Shipping Policy

Shipping chocolate is a delicate process, and we do our best to pack everything with the utmost care to ensure safe delivery. Shipping is expensive, and we strive to minimize costs to our customers while still ensuring the safe arrival of our goodies to your doorstep. If you have concerns or questions, please feel free to contact us.

Please take a minute to familiarize yourself with our shipping policies before placing your order.

Order Processing Time

  • Orders take an estimated 1 - 3 business days to process within our facility before being shipped. This time may be higher during holidays or extreme weather events such as storms or heat waves.
  • Orders placed after 9am PST may not be processed until the next business day. If you need an order to arrive by a certain date, please contact us directly and we will do our best to accommodate.
  • The delivery estimate shown at checkout is just that -- an estimate. We are not able to guarantee a specific delivery date, and we do not provide refunds or replacements for late shipments.
  • Our business hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm PST. We don't process or ship orders over the weekend.
  • During the summer, we may only ship orders Monday - Wednesday, at our discretion, in order to prevent orders melting over the weekend while in transit.
  • Bulk ingredients are bagged to order and may have a longer lead time.

Shipment Issues & Delays

  • If an order is shipped back to us or there is a delivery issue that is due to invalid shipping information entered by the customer, such as a wrong address, there may be extra charges incurred for us to reship products.
  • If a customer enters the address incorrectly, we may not be able to provide any replacement or refund. Please double check shipment addresses before placing your order to ensure successful delivery; if you notice a mistake after ordering, please email us immediately and we will do our best to adjust if the items have not shipped yet!
  • Please be extra careful to double-check your address when using Shop Pay or PayPal to checkout. Many customers have experienced these third-party services auto-completing a previously used or saved address when checking out.
  • We unfortunately cannot offer refunds for delayed shipments when the mail carrier is at fault. Please allow ample time for your package to arrive, or select a shipping option that will ensure quick delivery (i.e. overnight or expedited). Please also remember to account for order processing time. If your package has not arrived within 5 business days of its original tracking ETA, please contact us.

Carriers

  • USPS is typically our default shipping vendor. Priority Mail or Ground Advantage may be used at our discretion.
  • Please contact us to request delivery via UPS.

Free Shipping Over $59

  • Orders totaling over $59 within the United States will automatically receive free shipping. These orders can take up to 5 business days to arrive (depending on your location) once shipped. If you need your order to arrive quicker than it would via our complimentary ground shipping, make sure to select the expedited shipping option upon checkout. Extra charges may occur.
  • EXCLUSIONS:
    • Hawaii and Alaska are excluded from free shipping, and only the continental U.S. will qualify.
    • Canada is excluded from this promotion.

Warm Weather Shipping Protocols

  • Our main goal is to make sure that your products arrive unmelted and in the best possible condition. During warmer months (approx. April-October), shipping costs may increase to accommodate packing your chocolates with ice and insulation materials.
  • We will aim to only ship orders Monday - Wednesday, at our discretion, to ensure your chocolate doesn’t sit in a hot delivery truck or warehouse over a weekend. Please note that in the case of extreme weather, shipping may be delayed. The delivery estimate displayed on our website is just an estimate may be not be accurate during hot weather.
  • Our default carrier is USPS, although we may also use UPS as needed. We reserve the right to use whichever carrier makes the most sense for each order, taking into account delivery times. If you need to request one or the other, please reach out directly to orders@coracaoconfections.com
  • Please follow your tracking information once it is received, and make sure to have someone home to receive the package directly to avoid prolonged time in outside heat.
  • If you are shipping somewhere with an extreme climate (over 95 degrees), such as FL, TX, AZ, or HI, please consider upgrading your shipping to an Overnight or Next Day option. We will also reach out directly in the event that weather at the time of your order seems too risky for safe shipment.

Damaged Orders

  • If you receive an order that contains damaged or compromised items, please take photo documentation and email us to let us know. We do our best to ensure the quality and safe delivery of our products; however, sometimes circumstances are out of our control. We care about you receiving your chocolates, and will do our best to make it right when possible!
  • As chocolate is a perishable item, please do your best to ensure someone is available to receive your package when it is delivered, or make arrangements for it to be shipped to a location that is secure. We live in an unpredictable world, and this is why we make sure to send tracking info for your order and request that you are home to receive your goodies, as external factors such as theft or animal damage (yes, it has happened - squirrels love our chocolate!) are unfortunate possibilities. If an issue occurs, feel free to reach out to us, but we cannot guarantee a full refund for damage or theft that occurs after delivery.

International Orders

  • We do not offer international shipping. The except is Canada, and we're only able to offer shipping to Canada during colder months (approximately November - March).
  • Please be aware that with these international orders, we will do our best to package things carefully to ensure safe delivery, but the customer will assume the risk for shipments that are damaged, delayed, or lost in transit. Customs are unpredictable and shipping perishable items can be tricky with the inevitably longer transit times.
